I need to
confess something: I wear rock shirts without even knowing one song of the
band. Does that turn me into a hipster-poser? My answer is no. My story with
these type of shirts starts a loooong time ago. I remember that when I was in
high school I used to have some awful jackets full of patches with skulls,
crosses and rock band names. I didn´t even knew the bands, but I absolutely
loved the aesthetic of their designs. I wasn´t even trying to be rocker or a
bad boy, I really just liked them despite what they sang. Even my teachers knew
the bands, but not me. Once, the guy that taught History told me “Oh, do you
like______ (I don´t remember the name of band)?”, and I answered “Nop, I just
like their skulls.” There even was a girl that started talking to me because
she thought we had the same musical taste. Poor girl, when she realized that I
heard pop.
The real star in this picture is my new Iphone Case. Say hello to my little friend.
Now there´s
a huge revival of the heavy metal shirt and people is wearing them with
anything they have in their closets. I´m not saying “I did it first bitches.
Fuck me I´m a trendsetter”, but for me it´s something very normal yet cool. I
have tons and tons of rock shirts in my closet, and I combine them with my
bubblegum personality (WTF did I just said???). So to combine a Motley Crue
shirt with an aqua blazer seems something normal to me. Now I will try to
create a new trend by using childish shirts with rocker jackets. I´m starting
it today with a Rugrats Reptar shirt,
and a studded leather jacket. I´ll try to keep you posted on this experiment.
