The dress code was colorful, and the people really applied it. Everyone was wearing bright colors, fun pieces, and silly things. It was like if we were living in Agatha's crazy mind.

Fashion is all about having fun. I bought this blazer a couple of months ago, and I wasn't able to show it to you guys. It's one of my favorite’s pieces; I mean it's inspired by one of my favorite Jil Sander collections. The point is that I wanted to give the blazer a twist. Less formal, more fun. My idea became one of my favorite outfits. Fun, different, and stylish (I hope it does look like that). It turned out to be a very versatile outfit, because I wore it for 3 different plans in 1 day: dinner, Mary Poppins musical, and clubbing in the night.

The weather is just crazy. At least on Mexico City one day there's a lot of sun, and the other is rainning. That's why we need to have clothes that apply to every ocasion. I found this lovely cardigan a couple of days ago. It couldn't be better! The combination of black and brown stripes is lovely, and the oversized feeling make it really cozy. You know how I think; oversize is the new sexy.

Lacoste is a classic brand that will never die. I was thinking that a couple of years ago I was addicted to Lacoste polo shirts. I had tons and tons of them in different colors. As the years passes by, I realized that my love for Lacoste was gone. The brand just became boring for me (until the release of Lacoste Live!)

Despite of my experience; in Mexico lots and lots of people wear Lacoste. The problem is that they wear it with the same old boring combination. A couple of months ago, the Mercedes Benz DFashion Week Mexico was held, and even though I attended almost every day, I don't have any pictures of my different outfits. I know, I'm such a bad blogger. The truth is that between shows, posts, friends, and pictures, I can't even take a single pic of what I'm wearing. Luckily, there are street style photographers outside the venue, so I found this lovely picture of one of my outfits. I must say that I am a huge fan of all aspects of street style fashion. It's just so natural, so clean and so stylish, that for me street style is the real fashion. The time where people give their own touch to beautiful pieces. Before I go into writing how perfect it's my new ASOS sweater, I must say: ONLINE SHOPPING SUCKS. My experience was terrible; this was the first and last time I do it. Last week for me was hectic. I think many of you are thinking "lazy blogger, he didn't post anything in a whole week": but the truth is very different. I had what I like to call a "technology madness revolution". My laptop died, the internet at my house broke down, and even my Blackberry crashed. The whole technologic world fought against me. What can a blogger do without Internet and a laptop? The answer is NOTHING. Anyway I fixed all of the problems and now I can return to my normal online life.

After a small sorry explanation the good things are here. For many many months I have been severely obsessed with Jovan Israel's work. He's a Mexican illustrator that has a fucking awesome blog, amazing texts, and a fun, fashion yet dark vibe in his drawings. When I read that he was selling illustrations, I got really excited, chose my favorite, bought it, and hanged it in my room. Now I can enjoy Jovan's work every day at every hour. Vogue´s Fashion Night Out @ Mexico City

Last week we were all talking about Fashion Night Out. September the 8th was the date in which the fashionistas of the world took the streets of their cities and supported fashion. Here in Mexico, it was the first time we had FNO, (well last year there was kind of a similar event, but it wasn´t FNO) and I must say the result was pretty cool. Excuse me but I was very lazy that day to even take pictures, so I don´t have any evidence of my outfit, my friends, or the stores I attended. Lucky me, my awesome and cool friends Karla Agis, René Enriquez, and Natalia Ruiz were kind enough to borrow me some pictures of my whole experience at VFNO. How many times can you dress to be kitsch? I know, I know; it´s such an awful term (and style) but somehow last Friday I was feeling kind of kitsch. You know me, all crazy trying to stand out of the crowd. I guess I just woke up and said "How about throwing on some neon", and I will just say the result was amazing. First of all this vintage shirt is kind of amazing, just because of the random fact that it involves neon colors, vintage feeling, black drawings, and a perfect fit; yes the result is that you can conquer the world being stylish. The only thing I remember when I got to my school, were all of the "weirdo-crazy-he´s in drugs" looks that people gave me, which I loved. First of all I must say I am really sorry for not updating the blog in one whole week. I feel so ashamed with all of you guys, but I have really been as a crazy with school, job, family, friends, love, and many other projects that I have planned. Anyway, last week was International Designers Mexico, which is a fashion week held at my place, Mexico City. IDM is the place where young designers can show their creations and present their work; which is actually really cool because they start really young. The thing is that in Mexico there isn´t a full support to local fashion, even though there is a lot of talent in here. One of my favorite Mexican designers is "Olmos&Flores" which is a brand fully dedicated to menswear. The cool thing is that these guys do edgy things for men that love to take risks in terms of fashion. I want to show you guys what Mexican fashion is all about, and I want to present the real Mexican talent, so you can start to look at these young yet awesome designers. I will do a couple of posts so you can get an overall idea of the things that are done on my country. ¿Opinions on Olmos&Flores?

As much as I would love to be a part of the 1996 movement, I was only 6 years old at that time so I couldn´t experience a lot of cool things of the 90´s. Sometimes I just think that things were better during that decade. I mean No Doubt, Nirvana, Clueless, Grunge, Courtney Love, Alanis Morrisette, (ok I am highly influenced by music), 10 things I hate about you, plaid shirts, long hair, Scream, Nickelodeon. Anyway the thing here is that I am an extremely nostalgic for past decades, and my latest obsession are the 90´s. Maybe this isn´t the grungiest look ever, but at least I tried. Be grunge or die trying.

New Talents

A couple of weeks ago I had the chance to attend the "Elle Mexico Diseña" final. I know many of you will not understand the name, so the translation is "Elle Mexico Designs". It is a fashion contest organized by the amazing Elle Mexico Magazine in which a bunch of young designers compete for a huge prize and the chance to present their collection at "Mercedes Benz DFashion Week Mexico" (too long?). These are the creations of some of the contestants, and I must say that a couple of them really surprised me. The studded shoulder pad by Edgar Lozano and the dress by Alfredo Martinez are beyond amazing. We need to support more Mexican fashion, and with things like "Elle Mexico Diseña" the Mexican talent can really pay off.

After a week of shopping, tanning, beaches, awesome food, hot people, vintage architecture, and clubbing I am back at my beloved Mexico City. I must confess that I had such a blast, I was even thinking about staying there. Not my time....yet. Miami is such a beautiful city full of awesome things everywhere. It would be a lie if I said that everyone dresses cool and fashionable at Miami; but I guess it´s just something that adapts to their lifestyle there. Everyone has such a perfect body, such a perfect smile, such a perfect butt, such a perfect tan, that they dress to show their "hotness" and their bodies, not to be "fashionable". I mean if I had a perfect body, I would be shirtless all the time ..... OK no. Anyway I have tons and tons of pics to show to you guys. I bought like a crazy, and I made really good purchases that I am dying to show you. These are the first couple of pics that I took while I was at Ft. Lauderdale beach. I was lucky enough to catch a sunny day when I went to take a swim, because all of the other days I experienced a cloudy-rainy Miami (but always hot as hell). I wore a simple, basic neon outfit with a Billabong short, and Zara shirt. Don´t expect to see me in the beach wearing ultra fashionable outfits; let´s be real, you go to have a good time not to look good.

That´s right; sun, tan, fashion, food, etc etc. Since I will be fully dedicated to be spending quality time, I will stay away from the blog for a week. Alexander McQueen was my favorite designer of the last decade. I must confess that when Sarah Burton took his place in the brand, I didn´t really knew what to expect. After a few collections I realized that she wouldn´t dissapoint. The women collections are amazing, but this time the menswear was beyond unbelievable. I love that she did something risky, edgy and different that all of us style freaks will love. In my opinion the collections resumes into 2 words "glam punk". I don´t know it hat even exist but by looking to the show I felt like if I was watching some English punk boys getting dressed for a fancy party without losing their touch. Rebels, dandies, freaks, 60´s, stylish, punk, McQueen.

My Brother. ( Do we look alike?)

Just a quick little post with some pics from my weekend. We all hate Mondays, but I just see every start of week as a new beginning. This last weekend I had such a blast; I cannot even describe the amazing things that I experienced. Today I am filled with good energy for all of the work of the week. In life we need inspiration all the time. Nowadays being a blogger is just not a hobby, it´s a full time job. I can tell from my personal experience that throughout a day I dedicate more than 5 hours to my different projects at coolhuntermx, Style and Trends Mexico, and Neon Delirium; and I´m completely fascinated with the results. The thing here is that sometimes the lack of inspiration is enormous. There are days in which I have so many ideas inside my head, but so little time to land them to reality; that I need to sit down, watch images and find inspiration. That´s what I did today; a full day just for me and my ideas. While I was searching through the web I found the amazing illustrations of Olivia Chairmaine. Those were the images that gave me inspiration, those were the illustrations that make me stronger, and those are the dreams that I want to fulfill.
